Naro Studioo is a heartfelt space by artist couple Aziz Nabiyev and Ynja Mist Aradóttir – a space where personal history, cultural contrasts, and creative energy come together, both online and within their home in Copenhagen.
Aziz was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 7th, 1990. With a background in ceramics from the Azerbaijan National Art Academy, he has always been drawn to traditional turkic-Persian art. After graduating in 2012, he joined the Azerbaijani army at the age of 22. Once his service was complete, he found himself working as a cake decorator – a job that allowed him to turn his skills in 3D modeling into edible art. Alongside that, he actively participated in Baku’s creative scene, collaborating with other artists and taking part in joint exhibitions.
Curious about the wider world, Aziz was drawn to the cultural aspects of Europe and the quiet elegance of Scandinavian minimalism – a contrast to his own roots. This curiosity brought him to Copenhagen, where he quickly felt at home. There, he discovered Bake my Day, a young bakery that would become both his creative playground and the place he met Ynja.
Ynja was born on November 23rd, 1996, in Sauðárkrókur, Iceland. With no formal education beyond Iceland’s "framhaldsskóli," she forged her path through self-discipline and passion, holding over five solo exhibitions before the age of 21, and nearly living off her art, while simultaneously competing in powerlifting. Originally coming to Denmark in 2017 to study product design, she shifted gears after not being accepted, and instead opened Bake my Day – which became a turning point in her life. Starting her own company in a foreign country was a crash course in real life - intense, but profoundly shaping years that taught her more than any classroom ever could.
Aziz joined the bakery during it's first year, helping shape its visual identity while continuing to paint on the side. Despite their limited time, the two made space for their creative roots, meeting once a week to paint together in a small gallery on Amager - generously offered to them by a fellow artist. That little studio became their escape, a quiet space for experimenting, reconnecting, and dreaming. Over five years of close collaboration and friendship, their bond deepened, eventually evolving into a romantic relationship. Within a year later, they welcomed their son, Oran Azizson, a reminder of how some things in life just seem to fall into place when the timing is right.
Naro Studioo is the realization of that long-held dream – or perhaps more of a plan.
A space for showcasing paintings, ceramics, and sculptures. Aziz and Ynja value genuine connections with their collectors, and they offer home visits for those who’d like to experience the artwork in person before making a decision.
Our Vision & Mission
With Naro Studioo, our vision is to re-enter the art world with fresh eyes, stronger purpose, and a deeper connection to what we create. After years of keeping our work on the sidelines while building a business and a family, we're now ready to share it with others. Naro Studioo is the beginning of something bigger - a space where our art, story, and life experience come together.
We want to open the doors not just to our work and thoughts, but also our home. Our goal is to create meaningful connections through art - wether with people in Denmark or across the world - and offer a more personal way to explore and purchase our work.
We believe art is meant to be felt, shared and talked about. That's why we invite buyers, collectors, and curious sould to visit us, view pieces in person, and be part of the story behind them. We're also planning future exhibitions, and we warmly welcome potential collaborators, curators, or galleries who'd like to join us, to send us a message!
